March: Cliff Esquibel for his efforts with Lodge activities and Mike Kerrigan for his handy work around the Lodge.
As most of you are aware that Cliff has been behind the Purple Pig Poker Run, Lodge Christmas Party and several other functions for many years. They have been successful endeavors as Cliff has poured a lot of effort into them. I thank you Cliff and look forward to the future of these events with your keen leadership!
Mike Kerrigan is a quiet giant in our midst. He has been repairing tables and chairs and helps with odds and ends that need to be done on a regular basis. He flies under the radar for the most of the time, but this month he is on my screen. I hope that all of you say hello and thanks to these fine Elks as you see them this month. |
February: Pam Tarango and Doug Frampton. Pam and Doug have labored together with the Americanism essays throughout the county this year in the grade schools. “What it means to be an American” was the topic and grade school children answered the question through a written essay. Doug has done this for many years and Pam has lent a willing and competent
hand the last two years. Thanks to both of you for your commitment not only to our Lodge, but to our youth and our Nation.
You have also set the example of “many hands make light work” by working
together as Elks to accomplish a very complex task and achieving your goals…my sincere congratulations
to you both. |
January: Bobbi Galbraith, PER and Gary J “Woody” Corda, PER. I would be in error not to expand on these wonderful
Elks. If you have noticed there have been a lot of new activities here this year and is in large part that Bobbi is our Lodge Activities
Chairperson as well as the Editor of this informative
and worth reading newsletter you are holding. Thank you Bobbi for your hard work and continued dedication to the Elks. It is difficult to describe all of the great things that Gary does for this Lodge, however
here are just a few. Gary is the guy that was instrumental
in bringing Bingo to our Lodge, the pies you ate at Thanksgiving was another brain child of Gary, he is the Captain of Russ the Bus that has hauled Elks to events, children to games, Christmas guided light tour participants and in his spare time…he is the Lodge Secretary. Gary you set an example that is hard to follow and you are a great Elk. As you can tell, it is getting almost impossible
to have just one Elk of the month. With Drew and Alden last month and Gary and Bobbi this month, I believe that this trend will continue throughout the rest of this Elk Year.

| December: Drew Keeler. Drew has been a great help with many aspects of this years Lodge activities and Youth activities. However I am recognizing him for his ability to organize and be one of the Lodge leaders in Membership Sponsorship. Drew has brought in many new members since his own initiation last year and he continues to seek out and bring in new and exciting members to our midst. Thank you Drew, and the rest of your Brothers and Sisters thank you also |
| November: Fred and Marilyn Bartow. They are being recognized for Community Activity and Lodge Participation. Fred and Marilyn have by far attended more Lodge functions than I have. They are wonderful people and fantastic Elks, please join me in congratulating them. |
| October: Daryl Johnson. For his outstanding leadership
and organizational skills with our Lodge Soccer Shoot. Daryl has really stepped into the game on our behalf, both locally and at the district level. I am proud to be in your midst Daryl and hope that you will continue to indulge us with your professionalism and keen wit now and in the future. |
| September: Ken and Nola Zabkar. Ken and Nola are part of Steak Night and recently Hawaiian Night also. Their culinary skills have long been part of the Lodge and the time is right to acknowledge them for their lodge activity. Thank you both on behalf of the well fed and appreciative members of 901! |
| August: Randy Logan. You will see Randy helping out with all kinds of various tasks at the lodge and he is currently our Youth activities Chairperson. He has really taken off with that and has been a wonderful asset to our Lodge. I believe you will see a lot more of Randy in the future. |
| July: Bob Crosat. Bob has taken on the task of Monday night dinners for quite a while now. Thank you for all of your help and volunteerism. |
| June: Jim Madrid. Jim needs little or no introduction to most. However it does need to be noted that for the first several days of May he was the responsible person in charge in our kitchen for Monday night dinners, Cinco deMayo, Mothers Day, and meeting night. These were some long and consecutive events that were a coming and going affair. He did not attempt this single handed either, Jim has taught a lot of people how to work our kitchen, including yours truly. |
May: Chris Warfield. Chris is noted for Lodge Activities and Veterans Assistance. He has been at the Lodge helping out with serving at St Patty’s Day and helping out with delivering items to Yountville for our Veterans. |
April: Paul Kahalewai. For his help with Veterans Service, Lodge Activities, and Youth Activities as Chairperson for the Hoop Shoot. |
